Litho overprinting covers a huge range of print finishing and embellishment techniques that we have mastered. Your clients always want higher response rates to their campaigns. We can offer you the experience to create solutions to hold the readers' attention. We specialise in short to medium run projects. Here is a list of typical enhancements that we offer.
- Spot UV varnishing – Our screen printed varnishes offer the highest gloss levels to accent images or add creative textures. Also available as a matt finish for gloss laminated print.
- Fragrance burst (scratch and sniff) – Mostly known for their use in magazines for sampling perfumes there are many applications that can be enhanced by the addition of fragrance burst inks. We can offer a range of stock fragrances from coffee to chocolate with bespoke scents to order. Either sample a new scent or create an atmosphere to excite your customers’ senses.
- Rub removable (scratch card) – We are all familiar with lotto scratch cards but not always aware that this creative interactive print can hold the users' attention and entice them into seeing what lies underneath. Whether used for a competition or a promotion you’re sure to increase response. Available in silver, gold or blue and can be tinted.
- Glow in the dark (phosphorescent) – From safety signs to self adhesive stars we’ve all seen this finish, just consider what you could do with it on your special mailing.
- Heat sensitive inks (thermochromic) – These inks come in a range of 10 colours and 17 temperature sensitivities from -25°C to 60°C. The body temperature range (22°C to 25°C) is very popular as it becomes clear when touched to reveal what’s underneath. As it cools it reverts to the solid colour.
- Daylight reactive inks (photochromic) – These inks when printed on the correct litho base tint remain invisible until exposed to daylight or UV sources when they change to create significant colourful elements that fade back when removed from UV containing light.
- Tinted UV varnish – We are often asked how we can enhance the look of lithographic printing in an imaginative way. A great technique is to overprint a high gloss UV tinted varnish to accent graphic features of the design. The tints can be produced to varying levels of transparency to achieve the desired result.
- Interference inks – These inks create an iridescent luster or pearlescent effect to enhance specific elements of your design.
We can of course print a selection of these effects onto your projects, in fact we’ve actually printed all of them onto one piece that we can mail you that is branded or unbranded depending on your needs.
